Santo Domingo.- The president of the Dominican Federation of Retailers (FDC), Iván García, strongly criticized the current promulgation of Regulation No. 98-25, which amends Regulation No. 225-20 on Complete Administration and Co-processing of Stable Waste, arguing that the modifications unfairly affect the nation’s enterprise sector.

In response to García, the legislation was enacted “unexpectedly” and establishes uniform charges that fail to differentiate between massive firms and small or medium-sized companies. “A company that declares more than RD$10 billion will pay the same as one that sells RD$100 million,” he mentioned, warning that the measure might place an extreme burden on commerce.

The legislation was promulgated on Monday by President Luis Abinader, as confirmed by the Government Department’s authorized advisor, Antoliano Peralta Romero.

What Regulation 98-25 regulates

Regulation No. 98-25 updates the authorized framework governing strong waste administration within the Dominican Republic, with the acknowledged objective of strengthening environmental sustainability and selling a round economic system.
